Christine Mullaney McKay
Chris McKay is a partner with McKay Huffington PLLC. Chris leverages her experience as a former senior vice president and general counsel to a large public company to deliver practical, pragmatic legal advice to her business and non-profit clients. She has established a practice focusing on advising businesses and non-profit organizations on corporate, finance, real estate, employment and governance matters.
Chris is a former Senior Vice President and General Counsel to Shurgard Storage Centers (formerly SHU-NYSE). While there, Chris represented the company in placing over a billion dollars in public and private equity and debt; provided counsel on real estate acquisitions, developments, new construction and financings; advised the board of directors and its committees on governance matters; was responsible for the company’s SEC compliance and investor relations; and advised on all major litigation, human resources and employment matters.
Prior to working at Shurgard, Chris was an attorney with Williams, Kastner & Gibbs PLLC where she provided legal counsel within the business and business litigation groups of the law firm representing clients in banking, retail service, real estate and the fishing industry.
Her current clients range from venture capital firms specializing in investments in the real estate sector, to individuals wanting advice on starting a new business, to private foundations and non-profit organizations.
Chris received her Bachelor of Art degree from Chadron State College in Business and Justice Studies; and her J.D., cum laude, from the Creighton University. She is admitted to practice in Washington.
Chris is an avid reader and enjoys hiking and exploring the beautiful mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
