Jean Huffington’s legal career has been focused on the workplace. She represents both employees and employers in a wide range of matters from non-competition covenants to discrimination claims, from wage and hour issues to executive contract formation.
For employers, Jean is the go-to person. She advises them on day-to-day decisions regarding employees, avoiding legal pitfalls and executing long-term strategy for human resources. She assists in the development of effective policy and provides practical, sound advice to manage exposure. For employees, Jean’s practice includes negotiating employment contracts and separation packages as well as enforcing legal rights where they have been disregarded. Jean’s experience as a trial lawyer is extensive and includes numerous trial and appellate victories on behalf of employees and employers.
Whoever the client, Jean’s primary focus is on the client’s goals; ascertaining what they are and never losing sight of them throughout the representation.
Jean is admitted to practice in all Washington courts, the United States District Court for Western Washington and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington in 1983.
She obtained her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Arizona State University, in 1986.
Jean is a Past Board President, Rotary Boys & Girls Club, Seattle
She is a Washington native, a rabid fan of Husky football and a passionate recreational boater in Washington and British Columbia waters.
